Artwork by Susan Marlowe

Main Gallery – The Main Gallery is featuring the works of Susan B. Marlowe.   Marlowe began her journey as an artist at the University of Kentucky. Her love of painting has remained constant as she raised a family and works as a nurse. She now lives and paints in the Blue Ridge Mountains with her husband and dog while her children travel around the world.

Her work ranges from literal to whimsical representation. Whatever her medium or subject, Marlowe strives to portray her subject’s energy and essence with a celebration of rich color and texture which reflects her joie de vivre.

For the Watauga Arts Council show, Susan is exhibiting the original paintings she created for the book, Goodnight Boone, and will be presenting a new collection of “Alphabet Blocks” as well as painted quilts, “the Painted Stitch”.

Open Door Gallery – The Open Door Gallery is featuring the color filled works of Ashe County artist, Raney Rogers. Rogers is a representational painter specializing in wildlife and landscapes who owns the Acorn Gallery in West Jefferson, NC – the first art gallery to open in West Jefferson over 25 years ago.

She travels throughout the southeast teaching workshops and lecturing about her art and her “Fairy Tale” story as well as hosting her art instruction television series “The Painting with Raney Show”.  Her award winning work is in the private and corporate collections throughout the world.  Visit her site at www.acorngallery.com, You Tube – The Painting with Raney Show, Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.

Serendipity Gallery – The Serendipity Gallery artists are stubbornly refusing to accept the fact that winter’s upon us….so they’re having a Beach Party!   The gallery is filled with beachy images and props sure to make you warmer just by looking at them. Artists which are featured in this show include Trudy Muegel, Dan Stillwell, Sue Lindgren, Cherry Burns, Kit Fisher, William Bass, Sondra Edwards, Judy Clarke, Nancy Howard, and Bernie Edwards.

The Children’s Gallery is showcasing the artistic creations of the children of Hardin Park School under the direction of Chad Safferstone.

All of the galleries are sponsored regularly by Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff.
