Area Ski Slopes Ready For The Weekend With Great “True Peak Season Conditions”

Freezing temperatures are allowing the ski slopes to continue opening more slopes and the slopes that are open are averaging 20 to 50 inches of snow on them.

Appalachian Ski Mtn. has 100% of their slopes open including their three terrain parks. They also have all of their lifts operating. Drew Stanley of Appalachian says, “What a great time to ski or snowboard! Conditions really couldn’t get better, with ample snowmaking temps we have been able to build a large base and are now 100% open with all slopes, 3 terrain parks and true peak season conditions.” Appalachian Ski Mtn.’s Midnight Blast Sessions will be happening this Friday and Saturday nights with their slopes staying open till midnight. And their ice rink has three sessions beginning at noon everyday.

Sugar Mountain Resort has 14 of their 21 slopes open going into the weekend with average snow depths of 28 to 50 inches. Their ice rink is open with 6 daily sessions beginning at 10 a.m. And their tubing run is in great shape with awesome snowmaking conditions. Kim Jochl of Sugar says, “Perfect winter weather!’ is to be found at their resort.

Beech Mountain Resort has 10 of 17 trails open with a 20 to 58 inch base. They also have 6 lifts operating going into the weekend. Their ice rink and tubing facilities are also fully operational. Taila Freeman of Beech says, “The weather looks promising for a great weekend. Conditions are great right now and we have a lot of fun events planned for the weekend.”

Hawksnest Tubing Resort has their 30 lanes of tubing open and reports just perfect snow conditions for a really thrilling ride!
