AppUrgent to Focus on Education During Urgent Care Awareness Month

The Urgent Care Association of America has declared May as Urgent Care Awareness Month.

AppUrgent Care Center, a certified UCAOA member, plans to use the month to educate the community on the purposes and benefits of using an urgent care facility.8664fb8c-89f8-466c-9e84-422f595af022

Conveniently located on U.S. Highway 321 in Boone, AppUrgent serves as an important member of Appalachian Regional Healthcare System‘s continuum of care. Since opening at its current location in 2012, the center has provided same-day walk-in access to patients with non-life threatening symptoms such as sore throats, strains, sprains and the flu. In addition, AppUrgent also offers physicals, urine drug screens and breath alcohol testing in compliance with Department of Transportation standards.

Viewed as a cost-saving alternative to an emergency room visit, AppUrgent recognizes that illnesses and injuries never seem to occur at convenient times. That’s why the practice offers extended hours Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. and weekend hours on Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. At all times, the practice is well-equipped with an on-site physician and a team of skilled nurses who are ready to provide patients with quality and timely care.
