March 7, 2014. Due to the snow day class cancellations at Appalachian State University, students get to have their spring break one day early.

Spring break for Appalachian State University is officially scheduled for Monday, March 10 – Friday, March 14. Thousands of students will leave the High Country for the week, leading to drastically reduced road congestion for next week.

With the absence of the majority of the university’s population, the AppalCART bus service will be reducing their regular routes during the week of the break. High Country locals can expect to see noticeably less traffic this week and maybe even a vacant parking space here and there.

According to AppalCART, routes will be run on the “summer schedule,” with reduced routes throughout town. For updated route information, click here.

ASU students will return to class on a regular schedule beginning March 17.
