Appalachian Ski Patrol Hosting Event for Members of Wounded Warrior Project on Saturday, March 9

skipatrolMarch 7, 2013. Saturday, March 9, Appalachian Ski Patrol will be hosting a ski/board event for members of the Wounded Warrior Project. Along with assistance and support from Local and Regional EMS, Fire/Rescue and Law Enforcement Officers, Appalachian Ski Mountain will provide a day of skiing and boarding for our Nations Heroes who have fought for our freedom and provided so much for all of us.

The Ski Patrol has several members who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and currently on military leave. Throughout the Southern Division and the National Ski Patrol, area patrols have shown support of the WWP by hosting similar events. Appalachian Ski Patrol would like to locally support our members and those alumni members of the WWP.

This event will start with a tribute to these servicemen and women, with a flag presentation by the ASU ROTC Mountaineer Battalion Cadets. The Ski Patrol will provide volunteers to assist each member with a day of skiing/boarding, and will provide lunch to those members participating.

With the aid and support of local businesses and individuals, they will be providing breakfast and dinner over the course of this weekend. The patrol will also make a donation to the WWP from funds raised and donations collected over the course of this years ski season.

The patrol would like to thank those Individuals and Local Area Organizations and Businesses who have shown support to this Event:
