Local Dance studio, Appalachian Rhythm, joins the movement! A group of dancers from App Rhythm launched their version of “In My Feelings” – adding in their own clogging flare, of course! This new dance challenge has taken social media by storm. “We were just commenting on videos we’ve seen so far and sharing our favorite moves – before I knew it, we had our own little dance!” said Appalachian Rhythm’s owner, Ashley Cook.

Appalachian Rhythm was started in 2006, making a life-long dream a reality. Appalachian Rhythm offers clogging classes for all ages, and youth hip-hop classes. “I like to focus not only on the art of dance, because it’s beautiful, but also health and wellness, staying active, and having fun while doing it. I try to make classes fun but also mentally and physically challenging,” Cook explained.

Cook has been dancing for 27 years, and she’s been teaching for 17 of those years. Now that she has a daughter of her own, she is passing along her love of dance.   “To have something that I’ve loved my whole life that I am able to share with my daughter is really cool – makes it extra special!”

Appalachian Rhythm’s new logo puts the dancers in the front and center, calling the focus to them.

Appalachian Rhythm recently unveiled their new logo design, which is pictured above. While she loved the logo before, Cook says that she had one issue with it. In the old logo, the dancers were pictured in the background. Cook commented on Appalachian Rhythm’s new logo, saying, “It’s the dancers that make Appalachian Rhythm what it is, and I wanted them to stand out. Our new logo has energy, movement, and – my favorite part – the dancers are bold!”

Appalachian Rhythm’s goal is to share their love of clogging with others and encourage each dancer to be the best they can be. Appalachian Rhythm is, and always has been, passionate about making a difference in the community and in the lives of their dancers. “We will continue to provide the same quality instruction that we always have and look forward to what the future has in store,” said Cook.
