Appalachian Regional Healthcare System is proud to sponsor its 5th Annual Heart Shape event this year. The event is free, and welcome to the public. If you attend, you will have the opportunity to speak with a cardiac and vascular physician at the 10 am Health Talk, free access for the day to their Wellness Center, and be entered to win a Fitbit!
What: Free Health Screenings
When: February 4th, 8 am – 12 pm
Where: Paul H. Broyhill Wellness Center (232 Boone Heights Drive in Boone)
There will be 15 free Health Screenings, normally valued at $500 dollars, conducted by health professionals in the field. These screenings include:

If you are interested in attending the Cholesterol Screening you must be fasted, meaning you have not eaten since 8 pm the night before. You must NOT be undergoing treatment for high cholesterol, and you must be regularly consulting with a family physician to manage your condition.
The event will also feature a Physician Panel Health Talk and a tour of the Wellness Center facility and the opportunity to talk with its professional staff and fitness guides. The Physician Panel Health Talk is taking place by the fireplace in the lobby of the Rehabilitation Center at 10 am. Here you can participate in a Q&A Session about Heart Health, and stick around to hear the winner of the Fitbit drawing!
Additionally, The Wellness Center is offering free fitness classes but get there early because you know these will fill up fast. Bring your swimsuit and athletic clothes to join in on all the fun because Heart Shape attendees get free admission to be an honorary member for the day!

9:15 am Revolution (Spin)
9:15 am Zumba
10:30 am Yoga
10:30 am Water Fitness
Event participants who are not already Wellness Center members can also see if they are eligible for a Silver Sneaker membership. For participants who are not eligible for Silver Sneakers, they may take advantage of an exclusive Heart Shape only half price initiation fee.
