April 10, 2014. To accommodate inquiries from the public who wanted to learn more about renewable energy, the Appalachian Energy Center workshops were created more than a decade ago. While the 2014 workshop series starts tomorrow, more than a dozen more workshops will take place through October. These workshops are excellent for laymen and professionals looking to advance their skills and knowledge in the renewable energy industry.
Janet Miller, the workshop coordinator at the Appalachian Energy Center, wrote in an email: “Appalachian Energy Center workshops provide a way for professionals to stay up to date on new energy technologies. NC is 2nd in the nation in solar installations and has a strengthened energy code that will save home and business owners money and create jobs in every region of our state.”
Below are some new things that Miller said is happening this year:
This year the Appalachian Energy Center is offering even more continuing education credits: http://energy.appstate.edu/programs/workshops/continuing-education.
In addition to architects, inspectors, electricians, engineers, appraisers, realtors, BPI professionals, and NABCEP – this year we are adding SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America), CPA’s, Lawyers, LEED professionals, and 2 solar workshops for teachers that each have 5 FULL scholarships available to high school teachers: http://energy.appstate.edu/workshops/347 and http://energy.appstate.edu/workshops/346
Also new this year, the Appalachian Energy Center is offering early registration pricing. Register three weeks before any one day workshop and receive $50 off.
