App Student Reports Sexual Assault Friday

On Friday Sept. 9, 2016 at approximately 1 pm a female student reported to a Campus Security Authority that she was sexually assaulted on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 by a male she recently met through an online dating website, according to a safety alert from the Appalachian State University Police Department.

The incident is reported to have occurred at an off campus location on property owned by the University. The University is providing resources and advocacy to assist the individual who reported this incident, and will continue to take actions to maintain the safety and security of the campus community.
