App State Announces Early Bird Ticket Promotion

Aug. 8, 2014. Fans that purchase tickets to Appalachian State University football home gales at least 13 days prior to each game during the 2014 season will be entered in a drawing to win an exclusive Gameday Experience prize, Appalachian State Athletics announced on Thursday.

The Early Bird Ticket Promotion was created to thank Mountaineer fans for continuing to buy their tickets well in advance of gameday despite changes to how Appalachian State kickoff times are established in the NCAA Division I FBS Sun Belt Conference.

As a result of an expanded agreement with ESPN, all Sun Belt home football games will be televised on an ESPN platform (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPNews or ESPN3) in 2014. Due to that agreement, kickoff times cannot be confirmed for any games playing in October and November until ESPN finalizes its weekly broadcast schedule 12 days prior to each October/November gameday. Therefore, kickoff times for Appalachian State’s final five home games of 2014 (Oct. 4 vs. South Alabama, Oct. 11 vs. Liberty, Nov. 1 vs. Georgia State, Nov. 8 vs. UL Monroe and Nov. 29 vs. Idaho) will not be set until those television arrangements are finalized.
