On Saturday, August 27, 2016, the internationally-ranked Appalachian Rollergirls (#158) will confront the Chattanooga Roller Girls (#182) on the furious roller derby flat track. The doubleheader will begin at 4:00 p.m. as the ARG Booneshiners collide skates and shoulders with the CRG B-Railers.

At 6 p.m. the main event will showcase the ARG All-Stars, who seek to deliver devastating blows to the closely-ranked CRG All-Stars. Both bouts will be live at the George M. Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, North Carolina. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m.

After defeating the Hard Knox Roller Girls All-Stars in June, ARG thundered forward 22 spots in the international rankings. This momentum is sure to serve the team well as they face CRG in the final home bout of the season. Jenna “Public Jenemy” Cucco, who jams for the All-Stars and occasionally lends her talent to the Booneshiners, looks forward to the final home bout with nostalgia and hope.

“This year, ARG has played our toughest season to date,” Cucco reflects.

“We knew at the outset that we wanted to level up, and we have been training hard ever since. We have incorporated new strategies, developed new skills, built new strength, traveled many miles, learned from our opponents, and grown as a team. We drilled, we sweat, we bled, and now we can’t wait to celebrate. We could not be more excited for this final home bout of an aggressive, amazing season.”

A portion of the bout proceeds will benefit The Children’s Council of Watauga County as the chosen charity for this event.

Advance tickets are available from Lucky Penny, Piedmont Federal Savings Banks, Holmes Convocation Center Box Office, and online at http://theholmescenter.com/events. Advance tickets are $8/student (valid college ID) and $12/non-student.

Tickets are available at the door for$10/student (valid college ID) and $15/non-student. Children 10-years-old and younger will receive free admission. Pre-bout grilling and tailgating in the back parking lot of the Holmes Center is suggested and encouraged. We look forward to seeing you there!
