Announcing Beech Mountain Ski Resort’s 50th Anniversary Winter Music Series Beginning Dec. 1st

The Marcus King Band, Town Mountain and Flow Tribe Appear This Winter 

Beech Mountain, N. C. –  [November 30,2017]- Beech Mountain Ski Resort is pleased to announce a partnership with Corona Extra to celebrate its 50th ski season in a grand style with a Winter Music Series.

   Beech Mountain Ski Resort officially opened its doors fifty year ago today, ushering in a new era of snow sports activity on one of the highest mountains east of the Mississippi River. As part of this Golden Jubilee year celebration, an exceptional run of shows will be hosted by the resort during the winter of 2017/2018.

   The Winter Music Series is a combination of free and ticketed events beginning Dec. 1 and running through March 10th.  On the bill of the Winter Music Series will be rising rock and blues stars the Marcus King Band, International Bluegrass Music Association Award winners Town Mountain and New Orleans funk band Flow Tribe. Specially priced tickets for these exciting concerts are now on sale at beechmountainresort.com.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort will also showcase many local and regional bands based here in the High Country. The music series will be open to the general public, for all ages, and for skiers and non-skiers alike at either the Beech Mountain Brewing Co. or the Beech Tree Bar and Grille.

  The series begins this Friday, December 1, with a free show by the soulful roots music group If Birds Could Fly in the Beech Mountain Brewing Company.

  January 6, 2018Dr. Bacon headlines the Winterfest Beer Festival featuring over 50 varieties of local and regional craft beer.  Dr. Bacon performs an infectiously danceable blend of funk, soul, jazz, blues, hip-hop and more.  Grab your tickets for just $25 in advance. 

¨  On January 20, 2018Flow Tribe will bring their New Orleans funk, rock and soul party to Beech Mountain Ski Resort. The group formed while in high school in 2004, yet the band members went their separate ways post-graduation. Then, Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005 and the band regrouped and  has stayed together since then, reminding folks in New Orleans and all over the country about the special culture and music that is based in the Big Easy. Cover for this funky jam will be $10.

On the 27th of January, the resort is holding their official 50th anniversary celebration with a show by the resort’s house band The Storks followed by fireworks. There is no cover for this special celebration.

¨February 10, 2018 – Marcus King has quickly become the heir apparent for the southern rock, jazz and blues worlds. Still in his early 20s, he has appeared on the cover of Guitar World magazine while jamming with artists such as Derek Trucks, Widespread Panic, John Scofield, Eric Krasnos and many more including mentor Warren Haynes of Gov’t Mule fame. Tickets for this soon-to-be legend will only be $15.

 On March 10, 2018, Asheville’s Town Mountain will bring their honky tonk-influenced bluegrass music to Beech Mountain. These excellent musicians like to kick up their heels and turn every venue into a swinging barroom. Tickets for the show will only be $10.
