You’re invited to attend the Opening Reception for a show of new oil paintings by award-winning Monique Carr: Sat., Sept. 23, from 11 to 5, at Alta Vista Gallery in Valle Crucis, NC. Please Forward this info, and bring friends with you to this fun event where you can chat with the artist and hear her stories about each painting. Refreshments will be served. The show is hanging NOW through Oct. 14.
Carr, a Contemporary Impressionist oil painter with an abstract leaning, has won many awards and was recently honored to be featured in the prestigious Southwest Art magazine.
Carr’s show features a variety of sizes and subjects, including: flowers, rivers, lakes, mountains, meadows, trees — each painted “en plein air” or from plein air studies.
“Melody of Nature” is the title of Carr’s show of 23 new oil paintings. Carr says she chose this theme because “I focus on sounds when I paint: the wind, birds singing, water flowing, the cracking of branches. All of this amplifies my inspiration as I paint outdoors.”
