Gas prices continue rising as of mid-April.

Earlier this week, AAA reported that gas prices moved higher for 28 of the past 35 days and that motorists are paying 13 cents more per gallon on the month.

In Boone, gas prices differ by 11 cents with some gas stations offering a gallon of gas for as low as $1.98 (Carolina Petro at 1321 Blowing Rock Road) to $2.09 (Speedway in Boone on Blowing Rock Road).

This spread is about the same as the difference between the state average, which sits at $1.98 and the national average, which is $2.08 per gallon, according to the AAA Fuel Gauge Report.
