Cane Mill Road

Southern Appalachian Historical Association (SAHA) is proud to announce its lineup of artists for the 7th annual Boone Heritage Festival, slated for Sunday, October 8, 2017. winning musicians and storytellers for Boone Heritage Festival includes Charles Welch, The Sheet Family, The Dollar Brothers, Rick Ward, Orville Hicks, Mary Greene and more.

The list of artists reflects the quality of local performers and tradition bearers who are the hallmark of the festival. Boone Heritage Festival is known for its focus on traditional music from the Blue Ridge Mountain region, including old-time music and bluegrass, styles which influenced Watauga County’s native son, Doc Watson. The roster of musicians, luthiers and tradition bearers scheduled to appear at Boone Heritage Festival 2017 also includes Charlie Glenn, Leniavell Trivett, John Peterson, and William Ritter. “One of the important components that continues to grow Boone Heritage Festival,” said festival coordinator Michelle Ligon, “is the quality of the local artists our guests enjoy each year of the annual celebration. People return for the event from out of state, year after year, making Boone Heritage Festival a sort of homecoming every fall. In partnership with fans, local media, and our sponsors, the Boone Tourism Development Authority (TDA), and the Town of Boone, Southern Appalachian Historical Association is very proud of what we’ve nurtured over the years and look forward to the 7 th annual festival.”

In addition to the stage performers, music jams are on-going during the festival. Anyone with an acoustic, folk instrument is strongly encouraged to participate.
