“The Hawk” is a new 7K race at Hawksnest Resort located in Seven Devils, NC. The course is a 7K loop with some relatively long gradual downhill stretches, followed by some strenuous uphill and downhill challenges. The start/finish line is at Hawksnest parking lot.
This is a unique opportunity to experience breathtaking views of scenic Grandfather Mountain.
“We want people in the community, not only from Seven Devils but from all over the High Country to come out and get involved,” Debbie Powers, Town Manager of Seven Devils, said. “The weather is supposed to be beautiful, and we want everyone to enjoy the view.”
The race begins at 8am on Saturday, September 16; packet pick up and Race Day registration is 7:00am – 7:45am. T-shirt deadline is September 1, 2017.
Walkers will be able to participate, as well, on a condensed 3K course, non-timed! Course maps are available at the Seven Devil’s Town Hall.
“Our town council is very visionary about more recreational opportunities,” Powers said, “and we figured a race would be a good things to have to introduce people to the Town of Seven Devils.”
Registration is $30 up until the day of the race, and according to Powers, anyone can register for the event up until 15 minutes before the race begins. You can register at www.racingtoes.com
