Dear Editor.
Why vote? Why bother? Why take the time?
When my memory takes me back, I can still see my
Mom and Dad with their citizenship papers. They
had emigrated to America from post-Czarist Russia
in 1922.
They crossed two continents and an ocean to vote.
On election day they dress up, join their neighbors
and walk to the polls.
If you are able to vote, remember all of those across
the world – and here in our own country – who cannot.
I’ll see you at the polls.
