14th Annual SafetyFest Comes to Seven Devils on Saturday, July 1

Have you always wanted to see a fire truck up close? Have your kids been dreaming about bounce houses?

Or have you been trying to find a way to get more involved with the community in a fun and exciting way?

If you said yes to one or all of the above, then you’re in luck!

On Saturday, July 1, from 10 a.m until 3 p.m. , the 14th Annual Seven Devils SafetyFest will be taking place at the Seven Devils Town Hall.

“Anytime we can get the community out in a happy way is a great thing,” Debbie Powers, Town Manager of Seven Devils, said, “and this is a way to benefit the public safety departments in town as well.”

The festival is geared towards raising money to improve the emergency facilities of Seven Devils, including the Public Safety, Public Works and Fire Departments. Constantly improving these aspects of the town works towards bettering Seven Devils for its residents.

“It’s an opportunity for the residents of Seven Devils to come out and spend some time having barbeque and looking at some fire trucks,” Powers said. “Also, it could be a good opportunity for renters or visitors to fall in love with the town.”

The event is also functioning as a fun experience for children, with fire trucks, bounce houses, a Smoke House and an Avery County Ladder truck.

“We are going to have all kinds of games and activities for them to do,” Powers said. “There will also be all sorts of prizes for them too.”

Along with this, there will also be craft booths present with local products, raffle drawings every hour (just a heads up – you don’t need to be present to win!) and a silent auction with amazing items that nobody wants to miss out on. Bidding goes from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Don’t worry, you won’t go hungry either! There will be barbeque served from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The barbeque served is a large portion of pork BBQ with baked beans, cole slaw, a role, drink and dessert. All that food for only $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.

“It’s just a fun event for the family,” Powers said, “and we encourage everyone to come out and participate.”
