Snow Makes A Return Visit To The High Country With Dusting In Boone To 2 Inches On Beech

On Saturday morning, the High Country woke up to April snow showers. Boone got .8 inch of snow while Beech Mountain got 2 inches of snow for a season total of 66.8 inches of snow and ice.  This alert is posted on NOAA weather site:

THIS MORNING AND CONTINUE INTO THE AFTERNOON AS A TIGHT PRESSURE 
GRADIENT DEVELOPS BETWEEN AN ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVING 
SOUTHEAST FROM THE WESTERN GREAT LAKES AND THE CLIPPER SYSTEM 
LOCATED OVER THE NORTHERN MID-ATLANTIC. TEMPERATURES WILL BE 
UNSEASONABLY COLD TODAY...REMAINING BELOW FREEZING IN HIGHER 
ELEVATIONS OF THE WESTERN MOUNTAINS AND GENERALLY ONLY REACHING 
THE 30S WEST OF THE BLUE RIDGE TO THE 40S ACROSS THE PIEDMONT. AS 
THE ARCTIC HIGH SETTLES OVER THE REGION SUNDAY MORNING...A HARD 
FREEZE IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE ENTIRE REGION WITH LOW TEMPERATURES 
IN THE UPPER TEENS ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS TO THE MID 20S ACROSS THE 
PIEDMONT.
