The Boone Police Department arrested a man on numerous charges after a hit-and-run incident on Friday afternoon ended with eight other vehicles being damaged.
Authorities charged Rodney Bryon Greer, 21, of Elk Park and Deep Gap, after the “traffic melee” that occurred yesterday at about 5:30 p.m., according to GoBlueRidge.net.
The report states that Greer rear-ended Stephen Thomas Larned at a stop sign on Perkinsville Drive. Then Greer left the scene, pulled into the lot of the new Modern Toyota and Subaru dealership and hit several vehicles – with only one of the vehicles being owned by the dealership.
While no one was hurt in the incident, Boone Police estimated the damage at $20,000 and charged Greer with failure to reduce speed, driving while license revoked, hit and run, driving while impaired and driving without insurance.
A request for a copy of the incident report with the record’s division at Boone Police Department went unanswered and Boone Police Department spokesman Shane Robbins didn’t have details of the accident.
GoBlueRidge.net listed a $750 bond for Greer.
