Bush Captures Pre-Dawn Planetary Alignment

unnamed

Todd Bush, a photographer based in Banner Elk, captured this winter’s pre-dawn, planetary alignment in a wide-open field perched at 4,400 feet. He took the photo on Sunday morning.

“Mercury, nearly awash in the first light of day was the last to join; Venus, Saturn, Mars & Jupiter, with a third-quarter Moon and bright star Spica joining the stellar limbo line. This image is a stitch of 7 wide angle photos, each were 5-10 second exposures with the camera’s ISO at 400, covering nearly 180º of the sky,” Bush wrote.
