Out with the old and in with the new! Live it up this New Year’s Eve at your favorite High Country bars and restaurants.

Bid farewell to 2015 and say hello to 2016 with drink specials, live music, great food and so much more. Here’s a list of some NYE happenings that will help you plan your night on the town.

Bayou Smokehouse

The Bayou will offer unique food and cocktail specials for the evening. Enjoy music and festive and frivolous hats and tiaras for guests as well as New Year’s Eve noisemakers and the like. Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler (“let the good times roll”) with a free midnight champagne toast at the Bayou, in the heart of Banner Elk!

Café Portofino

Ring in 2016 with your favorite people, loads of fun party favors and awesome drink specials at Porto this year. Enjoy $2 domestic bottles, $2 Corona and Corona Light, $4.50 house wines by the glass, $5 margaritas, $4.50 champagne splits, $4.50 fireball shots and $4 flushes. Canyons

One of the High Country’s favorite mountain views comes with tons of fun this New Year’s Eve at Canyons Historic Restaurant and Bar. This party will feature live music from The Rare Letchfords and will begin at 10 p.m., featuring no cover charge and a champagne toast at midnight.

Canyons is situated at 8960 U.S. Highway 321 across from the country club in Blowing Rock. For more information, call 828-295-7661. Dinner reservations are suggested for parties of five or more.

The Local

The Local Restaurant and Bar will be serving up a special dinner menu in addition to their regular menu, which includes all of your favorites. The special menu will include baked oysters, surf and turf, red snapper, house-made bread pudding and flourless chocolate torte.

After dinner, keep the party going with a live DJ dance party from 10:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. and dance the night away with tunes from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.

Lost Province Brewing Co.

Get lost and join this groovy night of fun at downtown Boone’s microbrewery with Danny Whittington and A Killa Band. Jonathan Priest, Mike Runyon and Douglas James join Whittington for this night of great live music from 9 p.m. to midnight. Your $5 cover includes a champagne toast for the countdown.

Town Tavern Blowing Rock

Live music from BanDam begins at 10 p.m.

Enjoy free party favors all night and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight with no cover charge.

Banner Elk Sushi Club
