The Lucky Strikes – Thursday
Check out these local favorites for a night of classic jazz beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Tate-Evans Park in Banner Elk. Plan to bring a chair, blankets and picnics or enjoy food from vendors in the park.
Amantha Mill – Friday
Enjoy a lively performance from this community-based folk and bluegrass group as they play from the front porch of the Jones House in downtown Boone during this week’s installment of Concerts on the Lawn. Music begins at 5 p.m. and you don’t want to miss this!
The Major Sevens – Friday
Kick back with the eclectic sounds of The Major Sevens and start your weekend off right! The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. in the beautiful Valle Crucis Park. No admission, although $5 donations to the park per person are recommended and appreciated. Don’t forget your lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets!
King Bees – Friday
Let loose with some swingin’ blues as you join this local group at The Best Cellar in Blowing Rock for Music on the Lawn this week from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday. Get there early to find a good spot, plant your lawn chair and enjoy the cash bar and special lawn menu.
Dave Calvert and the Whip Daddys – Friday
Soak in the last little bit of summer and dance along to the rock grooves and Motown blues of Newland’s own Dave Calvert and the Whip Daddys. Join the fun from 6-9 p.m. at the Riverwalk Bandshell and Park below Lowe’s Foods in Newland. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved to the rock gym at Avery School.
Wayne Taylor – Saturday
Ready for a nice glass of wine and some live music? See this American master musician at Linville Falls Winery at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Take in the winery’s excellent views and enjoy your weekend.
The Johnson Brothers – Sunday
