Live music just keeps heating up in the High Country. What better way to enjoy your summer than with a lawn chair, a cold drink and some cool tunes? Good times are on the way!

The Sharkadelics — Thursday

Rock out with this Asheville-based band at Tate-Evans Park in Banner Elk on Thursday night. The party starts at 6:30 p.m. and we bet you’ll have a great time! Concert goers should plan to bring chairs, blankets and picnics or enjoy food from vendors at the park.

The Neighbors — Friday

Make your way to the Riverwalk Bandshell and Park in Newland to enjoy the sounds of these favorites, which blend traditional and modern bluegrass with country and rock, from 6-9 p.m. on Friday. The event will also include food, dancing, 50/50 cash drawings and special treats. You’ll also learn more about the Williams YMCA backpack drive and how you can help. Alternate rain location at the rock gym.

Drive South — Friday

This popular group returns to Blowing Rock’s Music on the Lawn series at the Best Cellar from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday night. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the cash bar and special lawn menu.

Jon Stickley Trio and Swing Guitars — Friday

Swinging on the porch takes places this week at the Jones House Community Center in downtown Boone for the Concerts on the Lawn music series. The Jon Stickley Trio takes the stage at 5 p.m. and will be followed by a performance of the Swing Guitars. What a great way to kick off your weekend!

The Worthless Son-in-Laws — Friday

Don’t miss the Worthless Son-in-Laws this weekend! The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at Valle Crucis Community Park. No admission, although $5 donations to the park per person are recommended. Don’t forget your lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets!

Barleyjuice — Saturday

Stop by Cook Memorial Park in Todd for this free concert from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. Food off the grill, snacks and beverages will be for sale.

Gatorbone Band — Saturday

Get the party started with a glass of wine and the Gatorbone Band at Linville Falls Winery at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
