High Gravity Adventures Adds New Zip Line Tour with Ribbon Cutting Last Thursday, New Addition a Major Success

The Blowing Rock and Boone Chamber of Commerces held a ribbon cutting for the High Gravity Adventures new High Altitude Zip Line Tour & Free Fall at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 13.

“It was fantastic, and we had a wonderful turnout for it with people from the Boone and Blowing Rock communities coming out to support us and our new addition,” Ruthie Nathan, Assistant Director of Marketing and Sales at High Gravity, said.

Unfortunately, because of the lightning that was occurring that evening, those in attendance for the ribbon cutting were unable to experience the zip line firsthand. However, High Gravity had a big enough window for everyone to see one of the course operators go through. Up close and personal, everyone in attendance was able to see what the zip line tour was going to look like whenever the skies cleared and was being utilized to its fullest potential.

The new Zip Line Tour, officially open and running along with all the other amazing activities that High Gravity offers, takes guests on a thrilling ride high above the forest floor and through the trees of our very own mountains. Scenic ravines, swinging sky bridges and an adrenaline-pumping 70-foot free fall are all part of the new addition to the High Gravity Adventures.

“[It] offers an experience unlike anything else around. Starting from our treehouse, guests will soar though a forest wonderland, take in beautiful views, cruise over the Tweetsie Railroad trestle bridge, and culminate in an exhilarating 70-foot free fall through the middle of our existing adventure course,” Rivers said. “Guests can now spend the whole day at our aerial adventure park zip lining, climbing, balancing and swinging to their hearts’ content.”

The park also has rope courses, a Ninja Ground Course and Giant Swing. However, since the ribbon cutting, guests can officially wbe able to enjoy a full day of high-flying, family-friendly fun in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains.

“It’s been awesome. It’s been keeping us really busy, and we’ve had a lot of people coming and being really excited for the new addition and wanting to go through the zip line tour with us,” Nathan said. “It’s been lightning every afternoon since the ribbon cutting, so we are encouraging people to come out and spend the morning with us so that they can experience the new addition.”

The new Zip Line Tour has proven to be just as successful as everyone had expected it to.

“With the addition of this new Zip Line Tour, High Gravity Adventures has become the ultimate adventure destination in the High Country,” said Carson Rivers, Vice President of High Gravity Adventures.

Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains between Boone and Blowing Rock, N.C., High Gravity Adventures is a family-friendly adventure park that is ideal for adults and children alike.

Guests can combine the Blue Ridge Course, three-person Giant Swing and the new Zip Line Tour to create “The Ultimate Adventure” for only $89. Zip Line Tour will also be available as an exclusive stand alone experience.

This feature was added so High Gravity Adventures could become a complete adventure destination, viewed as a total package,” Hallie Altman, Account Coordinator for High Gravity Adventures, said. “There are, of course, other zip line tours in the high country, but High Gravity Adventures is now the one place where you can do adventure courses, the big swing, and a zip line tour. It is the best adventure value.”

“It’s been staying very busy,” Nathan said, “and it’s been such a popular choice for visitors.”

High Gravity Adventures also offers aerial experiences for those that like to keep their feet a bit closer to the ground, with challenges of varying difficulty levels ranging from 15 to 50 feet in the air. The park offers something to please everyone, from adults to teens and children as young as four-years-old, and all activities utilize state-of-the-art safety systems and the latest technology.
