This Friday, June 29 at 7:30 p.m., Ensemble Stage opens its second show of the summer, Red, White and Tuna. A completely different genre than the first suspense thriller, this comedy will have audiences laughing at the spoof of life in rural America.

Red, White and Tuna is the third show in the Tuna trilogy by Ed Howard, Joe Sears, and Jaston Williams. Following Greater Tuna and A Tuna Christmas, this show takes the audience into the town of Tuna—the fictional, third smallest town of Texas.

Look into the lives of the polyester-clad citizens of Tuna and prepare for a satirical journey as this show speaks to the hearts and minds of small town America. Along with the town of Tuna’s perennial favorites, new residents of Tuna crash the 4th of July Tuna High School Class Reunion. This burst is the first of many fireworks throughout the show, inviting the audience to enjoy in the fun of Tuna where the Lions Club is too liberal, and Patsy Cline never dies.

Watch the lives and agendas of the fruitcakes and troublemakers of Tuna unfold as the final show in the Tuna Trilogy seeks to answer all the questions about the characters in this satiric comedy on small town American life. These memorable characters include matronly ladies, cowboy disc jockeys, hippies, and a dozen other memorable, unique characters all wrapped up in politics, relationships, and vey heated gossip.

Red, White, and Tuna premieres this Friday, June 29 and will be showing until Friday, July 6 at Ensemble Stage Company located in Old Historic Banner Elk School. The opening show will feature a pre-show reception from Bayou Smokehouse and Grill beginning at 5:30 p.m. So, if you’re in the area and looking for a great way to be patriotic this holiday, check out this show at Ensemble Stage.
