Jan. 20, 2014. Appalachian State University presents the 2014 Department of Art Faculty Biennial Exhibition at the Smith Gallery and Turchin Center for the Visual Arts (TCVA) in Boone. This show represents a wide variety of recent works created by artists currently teaching in the Department of Art. The exhibition will be on view from Jan. 24-Feb. 27 at the Smith Gallery located in the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts and Feb. 7- March 22 at TCVA on King Street.

imgresPresenting this exhibition at two venues simultaneously enables visitors to experience a wider range of artworks in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, metal, fiber, photography, printmaking, drawing, clay, video, digital media, installation and public interventions. The works in the exhibition highlight the efforts of faculty members who are committed to not only being motivators and mentors for students, but to engaging in scholarship and research. Faculty exhibitions enable students to experience and discuss artwork produced by their teachers.
