Weekly Crime Reports: Activity and Arrests in Boone and Watauga County, June 29 – July 7

The following information is provided by local law enforcement agencies.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

June 1

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 1178 Chestnut Grove Road in Boone. A half spool of copper wire (10-20 lbs.) valued at $100 was reported stolen.

June 14

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 4074 Big Hill Road in Todd.

INCIDENT: Simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of marijuana were reported on U.S. Highway 421 South at Bynum Trivette Road in Deep Gap.

June 29

INCIDENT: Assault on a female was reported at 183 Graggville Road in Boone.

June 30

INCIDENT: Assault inflicting injury, communicating threats and second degree trespassing were reported at 5605 Bamboo Road in Boone.

INCIDENT: Fraud was reported at 127 Dovick Drive in Banner Elk.

INCIDENT: Damage to property (a mailbox) was reported at 655 Baird’s Creek Road in Vilas.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 2780 Castle Ford Road in Boone after a mailbox was destroyed by an explosive device.

INCIDENT: Trespassing and communicating threats were reported at 5232 U.S. Highway 321 S. in Blowing Rock when someone threatened to burn the victim’s house down.

INCIDENT: Simple physical assault was reported at 149 Green Acres Drive in Boone.

July 2

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 134 Beck Court in Boone.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at Food Lion in Deep Gap.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 646 Roby Greene Road in Boone after someone put fireworks in mailboxes.

INCIDENT: Physical assault and assault on a female were reported at 574 Fallview Lane Unit 1 in Boone.

ARREST: A male suspect, 54, of 338 Brook Hollow Road, was charged with failure to appear on charges of breaking or entering and second degree trespassing. He was held under a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 27.

July 3

INCIDENT: Traffic violations were reported at 3292 U.S. Highway 321 S. in Boone.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at High Country Recycling, 8468 U.S. Highway 421 N. $1,000 in damage to the driver’s side door of a Mazda A3S and $1,500 to the driver’s side front fender was reported.

ARREST: A male suspect, 42, of 121 Blue Bonnet Drive in Boone, was charged with failure to appear on charges of worthless check and possession of marijuana up to ½ oz. He was held under a $950 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 17.

July 4

INCIDENT: Domestic violence, child abuse and resist/obstruct/delay were reported at 155 Culps Drive in Boone.

ARREST: A male suspect, 20, of 155 Culps Drive in Boone, was charged with assault on a female, misdemeanor child abuse and resisting/delaying/obstructing a government official. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 24, of 515 Warren Road in Taylorsville, was charged with simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and failure to appear on charges of larceny.

July 5

INCIDENT: Simple physical assault and 24 hour hold were reported at 189 Clayton Hicks Drive in Sugar Grove.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 2103 Browns Chapel Road in Boone. $400 was reported stolen.

ARREST: A male suspect, 25, of 515 Junaluska Road in Boone, was charged with simple assault.

July 6

INCIDENT: Possession of marijuana and drug violations were reported in the parking lot at Tweetsie Railroad.

INCIDENT: A male suspect, 48, of 877 Slabtown Road in Zionville, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and communicating threats. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at Tipton Lane in Blowing Rock after multiple mailboxes were destroyed by fireworks.

INCIDENT: An unattended death was reported in Boone.

July 7

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 215 Hodges Valley Road Unit 2 in Boone.

INCIDENT: Fraud was reported at 121 Bluebonnet Drive in Boone.

INCIDENT: Calls for service were reported at 312 Clint Lewis Road in Boone.

INCIDENT: Fraud was reported at 1364 Longhope Road in Todd when someone approached a victim claiming to be from the IRS.

ARREST: A male suspect, 25, of 134 Beck Court in Boone, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon. He was held under a $20,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 17.

June 22

INCIDENT: Simple non-physical assault was reported at 275 Meadow Hill Drive Apt 15.

STOLEN PROPERTY: 10 oz. in fine Royal Canadian Mint silver was reported stolen at 204 Furman Road #24.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at 204 Furman Road #24.

INCIDENT: Possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana and selling marijuana were reported at 223 New Market Centre.

INCIDENT: Multiple counts each of the following were reported in the parking lot at High Country Condos, 1469 W. King St.: assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, criminal damage to property, DWI alcohol and/or drugs, provisional DWI, reckless driving to endanger, simple physical assault and felony hit/run inflicting serious injury.

ARREST: A male suspect, 19, of 1152 Winklers Creek Road, was charged with DWI alcohol and/or drugs. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

ARREST: An order for arrest was issued on a female suspect, 39, of 121 Beck Court, on charges of school attendance law violation. She was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 14.

ARREST: A male suspect, 20, of 173 Graduate Lane Apt. 211, was charged with reckless driving, DWI provisional, DWI alcohol and/or drugs, criminal damage to property, simple physical assault, assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and felony hit/run inflicting serious injury. He was held under a $75,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

June 23

INCIDENT: Fraud – obtaining money/property by false pretense was reported at 160 Cherrybrook Lane.

ARREST: A male suspect, 24, of 107 Ford Hollars Road in Vilas, was charged with concealment of merchandise. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Money/cash was reported stolen at 160 Cherrybrook Lane.

June 24

INCIDENT: Fraud – obtaining money/property by false pretense was reported at 178 Southgate Drive.

INCIDENT: Fraud – obtaining money/property by false pretense was reported at 1800 Blowing Rock Road.

INCIDENT: Suicide was reported at 1739 Poplar Grove Road.

ARREST: A female suspect, 24, of 3933 Temple Hill Church Road in Granite Falls, was charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud/forgery. She was held under a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A male suspect, 55, of 174 Grandview Heights, was charged with city ordinance violations/open container violation and littering not greater than 15 lbs. He was held under a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

STOLEN PROPERTY: $44.98 in U.S. currency was reported stolen from 178 Southgate Drive.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Money/cash was reported stolen from 1800 Blowing Rock Road.

June 25

INCIDENT: Simple physical assault was reported at 131 Gragg St.

ARREST: A male suspect, 44, of 258 Eagle Ridge in Vilas, was charged with communicating threats and simple assault. He’s scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A male suspect, 52, of 596 N.C. Highway 105 Bypass, was charged with second degree trespassing.

June 26

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at Earth Fare, 178 W. King St.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 165 N.C. Highway 105 Ext.

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported in the parking lot at Highland Crossing Apartments, 233 Crossing Way.

INCIDENT: Larceny was reported at Night Secrets, 1126 Blowing Rock Road.

ARREST: A male suspect, 26, of 521 Meadowview Drive, was charged with DWI alcohol and/or drugs. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.

ARREST: A male suspect, 50, of 2472 Junaluska Road, was charged with failure to maintain lane control and DWI alcohol and/or drugs. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A parole warrant was issued for a male suspect, 39, of 473 Nicholas St. SE in Abingdon, Virginia. He was held under a $20,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 20.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Purses/handbags/wallets were reported stolen at Earth Fare, 178 W. King St.

STOLEN PROPERTY: A gown, white lingerie and red lingerie were reported stolen from Night Secrets, 1126 Blowing Rock Road.

June 27

INCIDENT: Non-criminal detainment (involuntary commitment) was reported at the Hospitality House, 338 Brook Hollow Road.

INCIDENT: Larceny of auto parts and accessories was reported at 565 Yosef Drive.

ARREST: A male suspect, 35, of 8443 Eagle Glen in Charlotte, was charged with DWI alcohol and/or drugs. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A female suspect, 19, of 157 Stoneybrook Court, was charged with underage consumption and intoxicated and disruptive. She was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

STOLEN PROPERTY: An alcoholic beverage (Saki) was reported stolen at 178 W. King St.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Vehicle parts/accessories N.C. registration tag was reported stolen at 565 Yosef Drive.

June 28

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 166 Windy Drive.

ARREST: A female suspect, 21, of 524 Farmington Woods Drive in Cary, was charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and DWI alcohol and/or drugs. She’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 19, of 15003 Jockeys Ridge Drive in Charlotte, was charged with red light, expired registration, improper use of highway, careless and reckless, driving while impaired and provisional licensee. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: An order for arrest was issued for a male suspect, 19, of 190 Wood Circle Apt. 26, on charges of possession of a malt beverage not 19/20. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 13.

June 29

INCIDENT: Possession of methamphetamine and possession of a schedule II controlled substance were reported at 280 Queen St.

INCIDENT: Damage to property was reported at Walmart, 200 Watauga Village Drive.

INCIDENT: Burglary – forcible entry and vandalism were reported at 740 Howard St. Unit 1.

ARREST: A female suspect, 34, of 280 Bear Creek Lane in Deep Gap, was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine. She was held under a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 27, of 3893 White Blossom Circle in Southport, was charged with drug violations and possession of a schedule I controlled substance. He was held under a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 25, of 300 Hill St. Apt. 2, was charged with drug violations and possession of a schedule I controlled substance. He was held under a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

June 30

ARREST: An order for arrest was issued for a male suspect, 22, of 4144 N.C. Highway 105 Apt. B. He was held under a $3,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 10.

ARREST: A male suspect, 19, of 4724 Long Leaf Hills Drive in Wilmington, was charged with parole and probation violations. He was held under a $1,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 14.

ARREST: A male suspect, 28, of 300 Mountain View Baptist Church Road in Deep Gap, was charged with DWI alcohol and/or drugs.

ARREST: A male suspect, 23, of 503 SW 5th St. Apt. 3 in Hickory, was charged with fraud, larceny, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and larceny of a motor vehicle. He was held under a $20,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

July 1

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 565 Yosef Drive Apt. J.

ARREST: A male suspect, 21, of 348 Riverview Drive in Lexington, was charged with failure to report a motor vehicle accident in excess of $1,000. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 21, of 1901 Exchange Drive #635 in Greenville, was charged with failure to report a motor vehicle accident in excess of $1,000. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 20, of 1790 Cedar Drive in Lenoir, was charged with vandalism, assault on a female, larceny and burglary – forcible entry. He was held under a $1,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 28.
July 2
INCIDENT: Breaking and entering and damage to property were reported at 321 Faculty St.

INCIDENT: Distributing counterfeit currency was reported at Goodwill industries, 237 Boone Heights Drive.

INCIDENT: Burglary – forcible entry and larceny were reported at 521 Old E. King St.

ARREST: A male suspect, 54, of 2008 Shatley Springs Road in Crumpler, was charged with communicating threats and simple assault. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 7.

ARREST: A male suspect, 52, of 165 Old Burg Road in Zionville, was charged with soliciting prostitution. He was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 65, of 1005 Pinedale Road in Apex, was charged with soliciting prostitution. He was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 38, of 306 Farthing St., was charged with soliciting prostitution. He was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 53, of 1536 Burkett Road in Boone, was charged with soliciting prostitution. He was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 26, of 127 Summer Acres #218, was charged with soliciting prostitution. He was held under a $750 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 33, of 338 Brook Hollow Road, was charged with intoxicated and disruptive. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 29, of 8300 Parkland Circle #106, was charged with no operator’s license. He was held under a $300 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

STOLEN PROPERTY: Items reported stolen at 521 Old E. King St. include a Husqvarna weed eater and a weed eater spool of string.

July 3

INCIDENT: Solicit prostitution was reported at Greene’s Motel, 1377 Blowing Rock Road.

ARREST: An order for arrest was issued for a male suspect, 20, of 521 Meadowview Drive 202A. He was held under a $3,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 24.

ARREST: A female suspect, 21, of 523 Blowing Rock Road #25, was charged with damage to property. She’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 41, of 833 Greenway Road, was charged with failure to appear. He was held under a $300 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.
ARREST: A male suspect, 35, of 338 Brook Hollow Road, was charged with resisting a public officer. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 23, of 354 Roxanna St., was charged with possession of an open container, resist/delay/obstruct, left of center and DWI alcohol and/or drugs. He was held under a $2,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

July 4

ARREST: A male suspect, 32, of 531 Double C Road in Wilkesboro, was charged with drug violations, possession of drug paraphernalia “marijuana” and driving while license revoked. He was held under a $10,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

July 5

INCIDENT: Vandalism was reported at 131 Best Place Court.

INCIDENT: Larceny from motor vehicle was reported in the parking lot of Boone Mall, 1180 Blowing Rock Road.

ARREST: A female suspect, 20, of 6261 Harbor Drive in Concord, was charged with speeding, provisional licensee and DWI alcohol and/or drugs. She’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: A male suspect, 25, of 338 Brook Hollow Road, was charged with trespassing. He was held under a $500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

ARREST: An order for arrest was issued for a male suspect, 55, of 338 Brook Hollow Road. He was held under a $2,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 3.

ARREST: A male suspect, 33, of 278 Hoot Owl Ridge Road in Mountain City, was charged with driving while license revoked, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, exceeding pseudo limits and possessing/distributing meth precursor. He was held under a $30,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 21.

STOLEN PROPERTY: 10 mg of Oxycodone were reported stolen from the parking lot of the Boone Mall, 1180 Blowing Rock Road.
