Vilas Man Arrested for B&E at Howard’s Creek Home

Nov. 5, 2013. Sheriff Len Hagaman has released the following information.

On Nov. 4, Watauga County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a residence located at 2821 Howard’s Creek Road had been broken into and numerous items taken from the residence. Included in the items taken were miscellaneous jewelry, collectible coins, household furnishings and a boat propeller. As a result of the report, a BOLO was issued for a white Nissan Sentra that left the scene of the breaking and entering. The white Nissan Sentra was located and stopped on Cecil Miller Road by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division.

Sheriff Hagaman reported that the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division and the Criminal Investigation Unit conducted an investigation into the incident. As a result of the investigation the following individual was charged and arrested.

Aaron Lee McGinnis was charged with Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny After Breaking and Entering and Felony Possession of Stolen Goods. He was taken before a Watauga County Magistrate and given a court date of January 21, 2014 and is currently being held in the Watauga County Detention Center under a $15,000.00 secured bond.
