Undercover Operation by Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Nabs Convicted Felon from Ashe in Gun Deal

April 10, 2014. On April 3, detectives from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover operation for the purchase of a firearm by a convicted felon. Shaun Charles Dehaven, a convicted felon, arranged for a rifle to be sold to an undercover officer.

Dehaven, 30, of 157 Dollar Road in Warrensville, was charged with possession of a firearm by felon.  Dehaven was taken to the Watauga County Detention Facility in lieu of a $20,000 secured bond.  He is scheduled to appear in District Court on May 14, 2014.
