Two Arrests Made in Financial Crime Cases

April 27, 2012. Boone Police have made arrests in two recent financial crime cases. 

On Thursday April 26, Officers responded to Walmart and arrested an employee for felony larceny.  The employee, Michael Richard Drake, worked as a cashier and allegedly took money from his register over a period of time.  Drake, age 20 of Excalibur Circle in Boone, was taken before a Watauga County Magistrate where he was given a June 26, 2012 court date, then booked into the detention center under a $15,000 secured bond.

Also arrested on Thursday was Carrie Nicole Wells, age 34 of Hodges Gap Road.  Wells is alleged to have taken and written three of a neighbor’s checks.  Wells turned herself in to Boone Police and was taken before a magistrate before being released on a $10,000 unsecured bond with a June 26, 2012 court date.
