Investigation into Reports of Threats on Howard Street Leads To Arrests in Drug-Related Robbery

Jan. 21, 2014. On Wednesday, Jan. 15, Boone Police responded to a report of threats at 683 Howard St. Further investigation found that a drug-related robbery had occurred.

That evening, Justin Kevin Anderson, 24, and Jason Conley Anderson, 20, both of Boone, were charged with misdemeanor simple assault and misdemeanor communicating threats. Justin and Jason Anderson were released on $2,000 unsecured bonds pending Feb. 21, 2014, court appearances. 

On Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, Jerome Michael Carlton, 21, and Joshua Dan Carlton, 20, both of Lenoir, were charged with felony common law robbery, felony conspiracy to commit common law robbery, and misdemeanor possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana.  Carlton and Carlton were placed under a $40,000 secured bond pending a Feb. 21, 2014, court appearance.
