Crimestoppers Seek Assistance in Counterfeit Case

Sept. 17, 2012. On Aug. 16, 2012, two females purchased a watch at Belk’s department store in Boone using three counterfeit one hundred dollar bills. One of the females attempted to return the watch at a Belk’s store in Greensboro on Aug. 25, 2012, but was unsuccessful. The female was seen leaving the store in a blue SUV, possibly a Nissan Pathfinder. 

Anyone with information on this crime or any other crime is asked to call Crimestoppers at 828-268-6959 or the Boone Police Department at 828-268-6900.  All information will be kept confidential. 

Crimestoppers pays rewards for information, which leads to arrests; recovery of stolen property; seizure of drugs and the location of wanted persons.
