Boone Police Assists Avery Sheriff’s Office With Arrest of Two Males of Boone for Trailer Theft in Pineola

May 6, 2013. On April 22, the Avery County Sheriff’s Office received a report about a theft of a utility trailer on N.C. 181 in Pineola.

The victim of the theft had a digital video of a suspect vehicle used in the theft.

On May 2, investigators with Avery County Sheriff’s Office and the Boone Police Department located a vehicle that matched the suspect’s vehicle description on N.C. 105 in Boone.

Two suspects were identified and the trailer was recovered. One of the suspects made statements admitting to the theft of the trailer. 

Michael Weaver, 41, and Phillip Lyons, 43, both of Boone, were charged with the theft and arrested. Weaver and Lyons are currently held under bond at the Avery County Jail.
