Agencies Conduct Probation Compliant Check, Leads To 11 Arrests, Seizure of 1 Meth Lab

On April 20, Watauga County Sheriff’s Office, NC Department of Public Safety (Probation/Parole), US Marshals Service, Boone PD, ASU PD and the State Bureau of Investigation conducted a joint operation.

The operation consisted of six different teams composed of officers, agents and probation officers as they attempted to locate probationers and conduct warrantless searches on their residences to confirm each were in compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by the court system.

More than fifty individuals on probation were contacted and their compliance confirmed.

During the operation, eleven arrests were made of either probationers or suspects that were located that had outstanding warrants. Several citations were issued and one clandestine methamphetamine laboratory was found.
