April 8, 2014. Boone Bike will host a grand opening event on Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to celebrate its new home at 774 East King Street, which is located across from New Market Center, in the “old Eckerd building” next to Tuesday Morning.
The grand opening falls in the middle of the bike shop’s annual spring sale, TREKFEST, which begins on Thursday, April 10 and runs through Monday, April 14 and features discounts on Trek bicycles and merchandise for riders of all styles and levels. In addition to the sale, fantastic product give-aways, delicious local beer from Appalachian Mountain Brewery (AMB) from 2 to 6 p.m., light refreshments, and free on-site chair massages compliments of Eli Petzl and the Myo Clinic will be available throughout the day.
Boone Bike is Boone’s original bike shop. Opening in the late 1970s, it has had many different locations throughout the High Country. For over two decades the shop was located across from McDonald’s on U.S. 321.
This spring, owners Shaw and Sarah Brown relocated to the new location to provide better parking, more space and a more efficient shop for the showroom, rental bikes and repair services.
“The new shop reflects the contributions of the entire Boone Bike family and years of envisioning the perfect bike shop for the High Country,” says Sarah Brown, “We are excited to share our new space with the community and thank them for their endless support and encouragement – not only during the renovation and moving process but throughout the years.”
