Feb. 13, 2014. Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, did it sneak up on you? Don’t worry, there are plenty of things in the High Country for you to do to celebrate the occasion with your sweetheart. Boone
Char: For Valentine’s Day, Char will offer Valentine’s Day specials along with their full menu. Dinner seatings are from 4-9 p.m. Char will also offer a prix fixe menu, with items like panko encrusted oysters, Korean barbeque spring rolls, frisee and apple salad, tuna nigiri, dusted flounder, surf and turf and chocolate stout float and strawberry kiss. Vidalia: Vidalia in Boone will offer a special menu on Valentine’s Day, with seatings from 5-9 p.m. Cost is $55 per person, and reservations are strongly recommended. The menu includes items like smoked salmon blini, sweet potato bisque, Zinfandel poached pear salad, truffled gnocchi, shrimp ceviche, beef short ribs, pan seared salmon, churros and chocolate torte. Joe’s Jazzed Up: On Friday, Feb. 14, Joe’s Jazzed Up with have special Valentine’s Day seating times at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Joe and his staff will prepare a special four-course meal for guests including shrimp stuffed with crab, a choice of delicious entrees and brownie and apple tart with two tuxedo strawberries and a complimentary glass of champagne.
