June 12, 2014. Want to get those toes tappin’ on a Tuesday night? The Bayou Smokehouse in beautiful downtown Banner Elk is home to the iconic Concerts in the Courtyard on Tuesday nights during the summertime. Surrounded by shops and restaurants, The Bayou is the perfect place to start a night on the town with some great local music with the whole family while grabbing some delicious Cajun cuisine.

The Bayou Smokehouse and Grill has officially announced the 2014 Summer Concerts in the Courtyard. Concerts will be held on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. rain or shine in the heart of the Village Shops in downtown Banner Elk.

Enjoy the music stylings of the Whip Daddys featuring Hope Harvey on vocals and a free wine tasting every single week! Featured wines are always 10 percent off.

“The Whip Daddys are pretty much our house band now,” said Winston Ammann of The Bayou.

“And Hope Harvey is going to be singing with them. She is a lot of fun to watch and a lot of fun to listen to, and Lord, that girl can sing!”

FIXE_0439Currently, wine tastings are being offered at the Bayou courtesy of Juice Wine Purveyors and Grandfather Vineyards.

“On Tuesdays, when we offer free wine tastings we also offer an additional 10 percent off of the featured wines,” said Ammann.

“We also offer something neat called wine amnesty. Anytime you are visiting the Bayou you can select a bottle off wine off the shelf and we will offer it to you for the shelf price, there is no corkage fee or upcharge. You can have it with dinner or at the bar and if you don’t finish it you can take it with you. It is an excellent deal and there is no waste involved.”

The Bayou will feature many different wines throughout the summer to cater to the tastes of all of their customers. Local wines, as well as wines from abroad will be offered to guests for tastings and for purchase.

All in all Tuesdays at the Bayou are a great time to come by, have some wine and listen to some great music.

“Hey, it’s free and it’s fun!” Ammann said. “The deck is dog friendly as long as the dog is leashed, and you don’t even have to dine at The Bayou to enjoy the music. People are welcome to enjoy even if they aren’t customers.”
