Town of Boone Proclaims June 2 – 8, 2013, as Garden Week to Acknowledge the Importance of Gardening

May 15, 2013. In an effort to acknowledge the importance of gardening and the numerous contributions of gardeners in our community, Mayor Loretta Clawson of the Town of Boone presented a proclamation celebrating the week of June 2 through 8, 2013, as National Garden Week to Rebecca Kaenzig, chair of the Daniel Boone Native Gardens. Mayor Clawson presented the proclamation to Ms. Kaenzig on May 14, and thanked her for the hard work and dedication shown by the Daniel Boone Native Gardens organization to keep the three acres of gardens so vibrant.

In honor of National Garden Week, the Daniel Boone Native Gardens will be hosting events throughout the week including:

June 5 – Strolling Photography with Bill Barbour

June 8 – How to Keep a Garden Watercolor Journal with Jo-Ann Pippin and

               High Country Horticulture Symposium sponsored by ASU Biology Department
