Aug. 28, 2013. The Avery County Chamber of Commerce and Eseeola Lodge presents Spirit of Avery Distillery Tasting on Aug. 29, in conjunction with the Tynecastle ABC Store.

This inaugural event, held at Camp Yonahnoka from 5-7 p.m. will give guests a unique opportunity to sample an array of products from state-wide distilleries. Products offered for tasting will include brandy, gin, rum and bourbon. While tasting these unique spirits, guests will also enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres from Eseeola Lodge.

There are 13 recognized distilleries in North Carolina. Currently, five of those have committed to the Spirit of Avery event. Distilleries participating include:

  • Tobacco Road Distillers
  • Broadslab Distillery
  • Petzold Distillery
  • Blue Ridge Distillery
  • Muddy River Distillery
  • Johnson Brothers Distillery
  • Carolina Distillery
  • …and more!

Tickets for the event are $25 and are available through the Avery County Chamber of Commerce.

“This is our first year, and we are so excited about this event,” said Sue Freeman of the Avery County Chamber of Commerce.

“We already showcase breweries and wineries, what better way to show off North Carolina than to bring people to beautiful Avery County to showcase distilleries too?”

Light entertainment in the form of banjo music will also be available at the event.
