July 14, 2013. On Sunday, July 14, the third Howard Street Exchange Festival will take place from noon until 5 p.m. on the west end of Howard Street in downtown Boone from Depot Street to Water Street.
This event features local artists, businesses, nonprofit groups and other community groups, in addition to live music and participatory activities including Zumba, Tai Chi, belly dancing and yoga.
There will also be local beer on tap provided by Appalachian Mountain Brewery.
The Howard Street Exchange is a regular function of the Boone Community Network (BCN), a local social network that organizes events showcasing different elements of the Boone community. This summer, BCN is also launching an online community network that is the first of its kind, similar to a local Facebook, Twitter and Craigslist combined.
The next Howard Street Exchange Festival will take place next month, continuing once a month through the fall.
