The Local on Howard Street in Boone is holding its Local P.A.S.S. event on Friday, March 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. to benefit the Hospitality House in Boone.

The Local P.A.S.S. program, which stands for Provide Advocate Sustain Synergy, began at the beginning of 2015, and the restaurant features a fundraiser each month where proceeds go to a nonprofit. The previous two fundraisers benefited the Boone Community Network and O.A.S.I.S.

Three tiers of passes are available for purchase – a silver, gold and platinum pass. With either option, attendees get one raffle ticket. Pass holders are encouraged to purchase more raffle tickets during the event.

If patrons happen to be dining on Friday, they may purchase raffle tickets (for local goods) as well. Patrons don’t have to be pass holders on these fundraising nights.

All of the proceeds from raffle tickets purchased on Friday will be donated to the Hospitality House. Plus, 50 percent of all ticket sales and 10 percent of food sales will go to the Hospitality House.

More about the Local P.A.S.S.

The Local P.A.S.S is a program created by The Local, in Boone, to help improve our community. In addition to offering food and music, we will now be a destination for monthly events to support our community. Through partnering with different local entities that are each contributing to our community in some way, we will help expand on their ability to reach our residents. Once a month we will host a fund raising event for one of our local entities. The Local PASS not only references a ticket to entry, but also our core values:

– Provide: Providing fundraising opportunity through partnering with local philanthropic organizations, non for profits, educators, social services and others that foster the well being of our community.

– Advocate: Advocating for those in need. We will be improving local social justice issues, education, and supporting local organizations that need funding. Through this process, the organizations will be able to better serve their clients and ultimately impact our community overall.

– Sustain: Working towards a more self sufficient community cycle. Utilizing local goods and services not only has a positive impact on our environment but also our local economy. Through supporting our local economy we become more sustainable as individual businesses. In addition, we are creating a small sustainable culture through increasing the overall health of the community, through partnering with organizations driven towards the service and growth of our community’s needs.

S – Synergy: Combining different services to reach higher potential than the individual services alone. We are more than just the sum of our business added together, we are synergistic. By partnering with services that individually may have need, we can build more robust identities through working together.
