Dec. 16, 2013. Christmas is on its way and New Year’s Eve is fast approaching. What better way to celebrate the coming of 2014 than at the Historic Green Park Inn in Blowing Rock for the New Year’s Eve Gala featuring The Harris Brothers on Dec. 31?
Offered that night will be a spectacular five-course special menu featuring delectable items like shrimp cake with shrimp sauce, tempura portobello, mesclun greens salad with red wine vinaigrette, grilled sirloin steak or horseradish crusted salmon and to finish it all off, a banana split cake.
The Gala will officially begin at 9 p.m., along with the live music from The Harris Brothers. The cover charge of $20 for the band will begin at 10:30, which includes the music charge, champagne toast and midnight snacks.
Live from the newly renovated restaurant, The Harris Brothers will keep the music going all night long.
“I am so excited about the Harris Brothers playing for the Gala,” said Lorry Mulhern, General Manager at the Green Park Inn.
“The Harris Brothers are so well known and so popular in the community, it feels like they are just coming home.”
This will be the third year that the 123-year-old Inn has hosted the New Year’s Eve Gala, with patrons coming from miles around to make it an annual tradition.
“We just really want to remind people that The Green Park Inn was the social hub of the community for decades, maybe even generations,” Mulhern said.
“We are building to toward being that hub in the social community again, and you can’t get any more local than the Harris Brothers. We have tried a lot of different things and we are just going to keep putting things out there for the community to see what they enjoy. We are looking forward to celebrating 2014 and all the great things we have in store for the new year.”
