Dec. 19, 2014. The Green Park Inn wants to be your host for the holidays this year. With delicious fare and a festive flair, the “Grand Dame of the High Country” is the ideal venue for Christmas and New Year’s events.
The Green Park Inn will be open on Christmas Eve, featuring the regular dinner menu, from 4:30-7 p.m. On Christmas Day, a brunch buffet will be served from 11:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., at a cost of $39.95 per person.
“On Christmas Day, we will offer options like citrus glazed spiral ham, slow roasted prime rib, orange French toast, assorted omlets, garden salad, corn chowder and corn fritters, fresh fruit, buttermilk friend chicken, roasted salmon with lemon caper butter sauce, roasted red potatoes, acorn squash and breads,” said Chef Robert Back.
“For dessert, we will have homemade candy and peanut butter pie. We wanted to go with more of a true brunch, which gives you breakfast and lunch items, and upscale it a little bit with more traditional items. A lot of these are southern recipes.”
On New Year’s Eve, a three-course, early bird dinner will be held at 6 p.m., to end at 8 p.m. The cost for this meal is $39.95 per person. The Early Bird meal will be followed by the New Year’s Eve Buffet, which will be held from 9-10:30 p.m. The evening will feature live entertainment courtesy of The Harris Brothers, a live DJ, snack foods and a midnight champagne toast to ring in the new year. The New Year’s Eve Buffet event will cost $75 per person.
“The Green Park Inn has always been known as a holiday headquarters as well as a Sunday brunch headquarters,” Back said. “We get a lot of people in from Charlotte and places like that for the holidays, and we are a big part of the holidays for a lot of people. The Green Park Inn, being a grand manor of the south, has traditional values that people love for the holidays. It is a time when they can celebrate the traditional era.”
Currently, the Christmas Brunch already has about 150 reservations, but there is room for more.
