Oct. 22, 2013. On Saturday, Oct. 26, join the town of Blowing Rock for the annual Blowing Rock Halloween Festival. Held each year on the last Saturday in October, this festival has become a fall staple and something that visitors and residents alike look forward to each year.
Join the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum for “Creepy Crafts at the BRAHM,” from 2-3 p.m. This free event features fun Halloween-themed crafts for the entire family to enjoy, in partnership with Blowing Rock Parks and Recreation. The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum is located at 159 Chestnut Street in Blowing Rock, on the corner of Chestnut Street and Main Street.
The Recreation Center will host fun and games for all of the kids from 3-5:30 p.m., and be sure to come dressed in your best costume and sign up for the costume contest!
Don’t forget to stop by Memorial Park for hay rides, airwalk games and other fun Halloween activities before heading out to the American Legion for the annual Monster March by 5:30 p.m. for the parade at 5:45 p.m.!
Immediately following the Monster March, stop by Broyhill Lake and join in the fun Halloween Scavenger Hunt, and don’t forget to bring your flashlight!
Finally, make sure you don’t get too tired out before trick-or-treating in downtown Blowing Rock with the many merchants along the streets starting at 6 p.m.
The entire festival runs from 2-9 p.m., is completely free and is fun for the whole family. Make it a night to remember at the Blowing Rock Halloween Festival.
