June 20, 2013. The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum will be hosting the Art Ball on June 27, from 7-10 p.m.
Though the Ball serves as a fundraiser for the BRAHM by allowing guests to make donations to the museum itself, it is also an opportunity for the museum to showcase their latest Impressionist exhibit, “Art Among Friends”.
The “Art Among Friends” exhibit features 81 pieces, one of which is a bronze sculpture while the rest of the works are paintings. Most paintings in the display were completed from the 1880s through the 1940s. These pieces exemplify American impressionist and realist style in the early 20th century.
The pieces come from the collections of Welborn and Patty Alexander; Mary Bost and Michael Gray; Charlie Murray and a friend of the Museum.
There will be a party in the galleries among the pieces, which will give visitors the opportunity to appreciate this fantastic artistic showcase while dining at the same time.
The Art Ball will include an optional contest among participating tables for the most creative tabletop.
With a spread catered by Reid’s, live music by the Mike Willis Duo, dancing and fantastic artwork, this event is one not to be missed.
Tickets to the event are $125 per person. If interested, please RSVP to the BRAHM by calling 828-295-9099.
