All Aboard the Summit Express: Enjoy Scenic Lift Rides at Sugar Mountain This Summer

By Jessica Isaacs | jessica@highcountrypress.com

Didn’t make it out to Sugar Mountain this past ski season? Don’t worry; you can still experience the brand new Summit Express on a scenic lift ride, which are offered each weekend through Sept. 4 this summer.

This newly installed state-of-the-art lift system was unveiled at a grand opening event back in November, just in time for ski season. Manufactured by the Austrian-based Doppelmayr company, the high-speed luxury lift makes for a ride experience like you’ve never known before.

Now that the snow has melted and the temperatures continue to rise, you can check it out for yourself with a summertime ride to the top! On this super cool six-seater, there’s plenty of room for your family and friends to tag along. Cushy seats, comfortable foot rests and gentle loading and unloading guarantee a great experience.smrlogo

Scenic lift rides on Summit Express run every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., which means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to see the High Country from Sugar Mountain’s 5,300’ peak.

Lift ticket prices are $14 for a one-time ride, $35 for an all-day ticket and children ages 4 and under ride free with an adult.

Groups of 15 or more can enjoy a discount of $10 for one-time tickets with advanced reservations. To make those reservations, call 800-SUGAR-MT ext. 202 or send an email to groupsales@skisugar.com.

Can’t get enough of Summit Express? Get your summer season lift pass for just $250 and ride to your heart’s content.

While you’re there, enjoy plenty of other summertime activities at Sugar, like hiking and biking trails, golf and tennis and more.

The lift will re-open for special hours on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8-9 for the resort’s annual Oktoberfest celebration.
