April 28, 2014. The Ruby Tuesday in Boone is closed for good, according to a sign that was recently posted on the restaurant’s entrance.
The sign reads: “This restaurant has permanently closed. Thank you for your years of patronage.”
Calls to the restaurant weren’t answered and a Ruby Tuesday spokesperson didn’t immediately respond to questions on Monday.
The chain began with a restaurant near the University of Tennessee campus in 1972. Since then it has grown to nearly 800 restaurants around the world, according to a history of Ruby Tuesday on its website.
This is the second major chain to close down off of Blowing Rock Road in the past few months. In January, Golden Corral shut down.
