December School Board Recognitions

At this month’s Watauga County Board of Education, N.C. District Judge Rebecca Eggers-Gryder swore in returning board members and Watauga County Schools Supt. Dr. Scott Elliott recognized December’s recipient of the Servant’s Heart Award and a local business that donated dental services to students in need.

The school board met on Monday.

Directors Sarah Miller and Zach Walker with the award-winning Pioneer Playmakers. The troupe, which recently performed in the N.C. State High School Theater Festival, was recognized by the board for their achievements.

Trent Ipock was the recipient of December’s Servant’s Heart Award. Ipock, a U.S. Army veteran, splits his time between the central office and school nutrition at Hardin Park. Superintendent Scott Elliott lauded Ipock for his work ethic, dedication and commitment to Watauga County Schools.
