July 18, 2013. Friendship Honda held its grand opening on Thursday afternoon with a ribbon cutting that featured Boone Mayor Loretta Clawson, Boone Chamber President Dan Meyer, executives from the dealership and a contractor whose company performed many of the renovations to the completely refurbished dealership on Blowing Rock Road.

For more than a decade, the dealership was known as High Country Honda but has been under the umbrella of the Friendship Family of Dealerships, which has 11 locations in Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina, since 1999.

Utilizing Tennessee-based contractors J.A. Street & Associates and Appalachian Design Services, the new building broke ground in August 2012 and now features 15 vehicle service bays – three times as many as before. Also, General Manager Dan Halsey said yesterday that Friendship Honda is employing 30 percent more personnel within the renovated dealership.
